Recognizing that decisions regarding funding and collaborators could impact the reputations of everyone in the group, we always provide lab members with an opportunity to anonymously indicate that they have concerns with a proposed collaboration or source of funding. The PI can choose to proceed, but concerns must be publicly noted.

At least one lab member expressed concerns regarding accepting support from the Musk Foundation for the Nucleic Acid Observatory project; this concern was overruled.
